Supplies List
Below is a list of what you'll be needing. Please note that you do not need all of it! All you really need is what is in the 'Required' section.
As a matter of fact ... I'll be honest, I only own what's in the 'Required' section.
... Well actually I own ink pens & computer software as well.
BUT, since this site only teaches you to sketch, just worry about the 'Required' section. If you decide you really really really like drawing, then you should check out the other stuff as well!

REQUIRED (WHAT YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED)
and more precise lines, I use mechanical.
-However, honestly speaking, I only use mechanical pencils ... :D
-It is best to have multiple pencils, at least two.
oils that will stick to the paper, hence making it REALLY difficult to erase. If you are a beginner it is fine, but paper towels or tissues are much more preferred, they
work really well, and you can even shape the tips to get fine areas.
the pen-like erasers, which are about five inches long. Rubber block erasers are good, too.
-Try to have multiple erasers as well, because many mistakes will be made, I guarentee!
creating beautiful works of art, and lined paper destroys the essence, and it is easy to misplace drawings with loose copy paper. Also,
sketchbook paper quality is different.
-There are two types of sketchbook styles: notepad and spiral. Notepads are normally longer and bigger than spiral, but I prefer the spiral
because pages fall out easily with the notepad sketchbooks.
OPTIONAL (FOR THE DETERMINED)
You can go darker if you wish. Keep an HB pencil, because it is also useful. And, just in case, a 2H. You can buy the lead for these different types of graphite for
mechanical pencils, however, I prefer regular pencils for these. For more information on what this means, what I'm talking about (in case you are not familiar with
different types of pencils), please click here.
to digitally ink and color your artwork, and even screentone. You can get the paid software like Photoshop, Manga Studio, and Paint Tool Sai, or, like me,
use free software like Paint.NET or Gimp (I use Gimp).

- Kneaded Erasers
- Gum Erasers
-Really delicate erasers, crumble easily, but will not tear the paper no matter how hard you rub. - Vinyl Erasers
-"Plastic Erasers" -- toughest, will tear paper easily, but erases many things, including ink. - A4 Paper
-Professionals I'm pretty sure use this type of paper for drawing manga, especially comics.
- Ink Pens
-If you want to go a step farther, you can ink your drawings. I normally use Sakura micro pens for black and white inking. I will not be
- Colored Pencils
-Pretty good for easy coloring, blend pretty well, too. I don't use colored pencils much, however, so I can't give any suggestions here... Once again, no tuturials will be provided for this either. - Markers
-Good for vibrant art with bold colors. Regular markers, however, are good, but, aren't really suggested... If you REALLY want to use marker and create amazing art, use Copic Markers, which are alcohol-based markers. Beware, however, they cost a lot. No joke... - Computer Software
